Unified email management with Gmail and Outlook integration, AI-drafted replies, and contact linking.
Dial8 brings your email into your workspace with a unified inbox that connects threads to contacts, actions, and projects.
Connected Accounts
Connect one or more email accounts from Settings → Integrations:
- Gmail — Full inbox sync via Google OAuth
- Outlook — Full inbox sync via Microsoft OAuth
Each connected account syncs independently. You can configure visibility and notification preferences per account in Settings → Email & CRM.
Email Threads
Emails are organized as threads, matching the conversation threading from your email provider. Each thread shows:
- Subject and participants
- All messages in the conversation with full bodies
- Attachments with metadata and download links
- Labels — Apply workspace labels to threads for organization
- Status indicators — Unread, starred, needs reply
Inbox Management
The email view supports standard inbox operations:
- Read / Unread — Mark threads as read or unread
- Star — Flag important threads
- Archive — Remove from inbox without deleting
- Trash — Move to trash
- Labels — Categorize with workspace labels
- Folders — Browse by folder (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc.)
Search
Search across all your email messages with full-text search. Results show highlighted matches within message bodies.
AI-Drafted Emails
Dial8 can generate email drafts using AI, with context pulled from your workspace:
- Reply drafts — Generate contextual replies based on the thread and related workspace data
- New drafts — Compose emails with AI assistance
- Context sources — AI references relevant captures, actions, contacts, and projects when drafting
Drafts are saved for review before sending. Edit, approve, or discard them.
Contact Linking
Email messages are automatically linked to workspace contacts based on email addresses. This means:
- Viewing a contact shows their email history
- Viewing an email thread shows linked contact profiles
- Email interactions contribute to the contact's interaction timeline
Action Linking
Link email messages to specific actions to maintain a clear trail from conversation to task.
Sync
Email syncing happens automatically in the background. Each account tracks its sync progress independently using provider-specific mechanisms (Gmail history IDs, Outlook delta links). You can also trigger a manual sync from the settings.
Webhooks
Dial8 supports push notifications from email providers for real-time updates:
- Gmail — Webhook push notifications for new messages
- Outlook — Subscription-based change notifications
